Hi, my name is Monia and I’m Turophobic
Saying that might scare more than one away. Better explain what it is: my “phobia” is cheese. When I was a kid, if there was a piece of cheese lying on the table, I would start screaming like crazy; now I just stare at it intently. The fear that it might suddenly jump out at me has not completely disappeared.
When I had the totally original idea to start a cooking blog in January 2019, the choice was natural: it would be an absolutely cheese-free site.
Since the spirit of the time, however, dictates being politically correct, I want to clarify that No Cheese, Please! is not meant to discriminate against cheese eaters. You are absolutely welcome here! If you want to take the recipe for pesto alla genovese and add a snowfall of pecorino or grana cheese (as 99.99% of human beings would do) you are absolutely free to do it! I do not judge you. Be aware, however, that you will find several heretical recipes on the site, so don’t judge in turn, but open your mind to new perspectives.
I will not deny, however, that my dream in the drawer is to find out if in the vast world out there exist others like me. Other turophobes, I mean. So if you do, and if you miraculously land on these shores, please let me hear from you.
Things I like
Other than cheese, a lot of things. I’m basically an enthusiast.
I love to learn and experience new things and cooking offers quite a few possibilities. Not to mention everything I had to learn to get this website up and running….
I like the smell of butter when the cookies are baking because it makes me think that sometimes it takes very little to be happy.
I like to travel because I’m a Sagittarius or I’m a Sagittarius so I like to travel, depending on your point of view.
I like carbs a lot, particularly in the form of focaccia (Ligurian) and ravioli.
The list could go on, but it was just to give you a couple of facts about me.
Things I do
Outside the virtual, world I work for a publishing house and I do a bit of everything.
Inside the virtual world, I cook, I arrange dishes, forks and other furnishings pretending to be a stylist, a photographer and I improvise as a developer and a computer technician, a SEO specialist, a social media manager etc. etc..
In short, I continue to do a little bit of everything. And I get very angry when the cake does not rise or on the Home Page appears a message that the site has been banned (panic!!), or the lights on the photographic set suck and, above all, when winter arrives and at 5 is already dark.
